Nintendo has revealed a colorful new title for the upcoming Switch 2 lineup, and it puts Yoshi front and center in a storybook-inspired adventure. In "Yoshi and the Mysterious Book," players guide the cheerful dinosaur through hand-painted pages of a giant magical tome. Each chapter transforms the world around Yoshi, shifting from lush forests to clockwork cities and candy-colored skies. The game leans into puzzle-platforming, with Yoshi using his long tongue to grab objects, swallow enemies, and activate switches hidden in the scenery.
But the surprises don't stop there. The same presentation also showcased a playful spin on the Mario sports universe. Baby Mario and Baby Luigi are back, this time wielding enchanted tennis rackets that can curve shots, create temporary barriers, or even teleport the ball across the court. It is a lighthearted take on competitive tennis, designed for both couch co-op and online matches.
Perhaps the biggest reveal was a new life-simulation game that blends the cozy charm of Animal Crossing with the creative building systems of The Sims. Players can design their own village, assign jobs to animal neighbors, and watch daily routines unfold in real time. The game encourages long-term storytelling, letting families grow, seasons change, and relationships develop over weeks of play. While no release dates were confirmed, all three titles are expected to launch within the first year of the Switch 2.
