Resident Evil 9 Requiem: Speedrunner Breaks Leon Must Die Forever Mode

Resident Evil 9 Requiem: Speedrunner Breaks Leon Must Die Forever Mode

A new speedrun record has been set for the Leon Must Die Forever free DLC mode in Resident Evil 9 Requiem, and the route is surprisingly tight. Players looking to shave off seconds from their own runs can follow this optimized path, which cuts through the opening mansion segment in under four minutes.

The key is ignoring all optional rooms. Most players waste time looting the kitchen and library, but the fastest route heads straight for the underground passage. Use the bolt-action rifle to take out the first two armored zombies from a distance, then sprint past the third one near the staircase. Do not stop to kill it. The door at the top of the stairs leads directly to the puzzle room.

For the clock puzzle, set the time to 3:15 immediately. Do not rotate the hands slowly. This triggers the hidden wall in one second flat. Inside the armory, grab only the shotgun shells and the green herb. Skip the magnum ammo. It slows your movement speed.

The boss fight against the mutated Tyrant requires precise positioning. Stay close to the left wall and fire three shotgun blasts at its exposed chest. When it roars, run behind the pillar to avoid the grab attack. Two more shots and it goes down. The final escape sequence is pure timing. Do not look back. Just run straight for the helicopter.

This route currently holds the world record at 12 minutes and 47 seconds. The previous record was over 14 minutes. The trick is memorizing enemy spawn points and never hesitating. One wrong turn costs you ten seconds. Practice the first five minutes until you can do it blindfolded. That is where most runners lose time.
